One shot cuts to another shot with the action of the subject in the first shot continuing through. This creates a visual bridge which makes the action flow. Action is interrupted by a cut which is then continued within another shot size/angle. To keep continuity, the subject must be wearing the same clothes as they were in the first shot, otherwise the action will not work and will break the flow.
